The Lake House can be defined in simple terms – a glass box sitting on a stone box. The ground floor comprises bedrooms, hallway and utility and is faced in local Rossaveal granite, laid dry jointed, rooting the house to its context. The first floor comprises open plan living, kitchen and dining and has a glass wall overlooking the lake. Light boxes draw pools of light over the kitchen island and the sitting areas. Externally, a lawn tiered with corten steel steps down from house to lake.
